How Influential People Approach Style
Flipping through photos in high fashion magazines and browsing their websites and respective social media accounts, I’m often in awe of what I see. It’s hard not to be. The styling is flawless, the pieces used are super fashion forward, and everything is so desirable. It’s definitely one of the key ways I get inspired in what I wear, and it’s the foundation of my influencer style – an aesthetic you can see in everything from this blog to my social channels.
However, when it comes to fashion influencers, I find the approach a little different. This style is definitely more approachable and reflects common trends in a way that is practical and easy to wear in everyday life. As a fashion blogger and influencer, I love being able to showcase simple and wearable looks, as well as outfits that most women can use to inspire them that they can wear to work or out with friends. Here are some of the things that many influencers will consider when styling their own looks.
Showcase your style
I follow many influencers because their style matches my aesthetic and how I like to dress, which I think is important. It’s about dressing for yourself and what makes you feel confident and happy rather than trying to showcase all the latest trends. I think the more authentic an influencer or blogger’s signature looks, the more engaging their content will be. An influencer’s style is all about sincerity.
Versatility is key
The wearability factor is also important to me because I often use the back of my car as a portable dressing room to shoot my looks and run around the fitting room picking up the kids, so I definitely have a more relaxed way of styling everything.
I’m friends with a few fashion bloggers and influencers and everyone has an everyday approach to fashion. We use the same bags and shoes multiple times to show the importance of making sure everything you own is versatile and works with most of the clothes in your closet.
Back-to-Back.
It also gives the look a signature touch by mixing old favorites with trendy pieces. I know I love being able to use a piece I already own and give it new life by pairing it with some of the key accessories of the season, such as a specific shoe or a specific silhouette. This approach is all about styling and crafting our own looks that make us feel comfortable, rather than letting the look wear us out.
